Report Text

DEFINITION REPORT TEXT
Report is a text which presents information about something,
as it is. It is as a result of systematic observation and analysis.

PURPOSE OF SOCIAL 
   Its social purpose is presenting information about something. They generally describe an entire class of things, whether natural or made :: mammals, the planets, rocks, plants, countries of region, culture, transportation, and so on.
Social Function  
Inform the readers about range of natural , man-made and social phenomena in our environment.
Generic Structure
1. General classification ; tells what the phenomenon under discussion is.
2. Description tells what the phenomenon under discussion is like in terms of : 1. parts , 2. qualities , 3. habits or behaviors, if living ; uses , if non-natural.
Language Features of Report Text
Use of general nouns, example : hunting dogs, rather than particular nouns, example : our dog;
Use of relating verbs to describe features, example : Molecules are tiny particles;
Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour, example : Emus cannot fly;
Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness, example : Tropical cyclones always begin over the sea;
Use of technical terms, example : Isobars are lines drawn on a weather map;
Use of paragraphs with topic sentences to organise bundles of information; repeated naming of the topic as the beginning focus of the clause.
The Differences between Report Text and Descriptive Text 
Text report or the report text has the form
similar to the descriptive text. The most fundamental difference in the second type of text is as follows.
- Report Text describes the form, characteristics or properties of objects, animals, plants, people or events in general (general).
- Descriptive Text describes the form, characteristics or properties of objects, animals, plants, people or events in particular (specific).

The Blue Whale is largest whale and the largest living creature on Earth. Blue Whales were hunted a lot for
oil,ballen,meat, and other products from the 1930s to 1960s. This hunting almost caused the extinction of the species. They are now protected and may gradually be returning in several areas. (Definition/General classification)

Blue Whales are mainly found in very could waters, like the
Arctis and Antartic Waters.They migrate to the tropics in the Winter and to the Arctic and Antartic in the Summer. (Habitat)

Blue Whales car reach over 24 m (80ft) long; mature
fermales are usually a bit longer than matur males. They weight between 87.500-142.500 kg. They skin has light grey and white spotty pattern. (Anatomy)

Blue Whales feed by opening its mouth into dense group off small sea creatures like plankton, krill or fish (Diet)

Blue Whale are mammals. They give birth once every two or three years.
Matiing occurs during the summer season, and they give birth after about 11 month. The calf nurse for seven or eight months and gain  weight about 90 kg (200 lb) per day. (Reproduction)

Mesothelioma in itself is one of the deadliest diseases ever to have beendiscovered by mankind. (General Classification)
Medically, Mesothelioma as a word itself means a tumor that is more likely to transform in a fast proliferating cancer which affects the mesothelial cells of an organ, which form the protective thin covering over the organs like heart, lungs and abdomen. Whatever is the verbal definition given out to this deadly disease, but those can never for sure weigh the deadliness of this fatal disease. It is an absolutely fatal disease which has taken many a people into its deadly grip. The maximum period of survival after the disease has been diagnosed, has come to the most of a year or two. It is worse form of cancer which is not curable. However, recent studies have suggested that if the disease can be diagnosed at a very early stage then the life of the individual who gets affected by this deadly disease, can be stretched till at the most of 5 years.
